JOB SUMMARY/ ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT:

Responsible for coordinating, developing and administering all aspects of business model including developing annual business plans; maximizing revenue opportunities at all area locations; controlling costs; ensuring that appropriate staffing levels are maintained while promoting positive employee and customer relations. RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct/general supervision of the Location Sales Manager. The Sales Associate is responsible for learning all operational aspects of the car rental business as it applies to Advantage Rent A Car. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Progresses through a formal orientation program which provides training in all aspects of the location to include administrative functions, local sales, risk management, incremental sales, yield management, fleet management, revenue management, financial and personnel management.
• Becomes proficient in performing duties and responsibilities of the various support positions within the location.
• Assumes leadership role as competencies are learned and demonstrated.
• Insures personal training schedule is adhered to, notifying supervisor of any discrepancies.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures
• Assist in generating and increasing business (quality referrals) to maximize the profitability of their location through the use of professional selling skills.
• Identifies and responds to changing customer needs and expectations- notifying the Location Sales Manager of changes in customer's needs, perceptions, required product offering, etc.
• Assists in identifying and developing new sources of referral business within existing territory of the location.
• Helps to develops and maintain the core market for that location that the office depends on for the majority of daily rentals.
• Assists in developing an overall sales and marketing plan to meet the location’s goals with business mix and number of cars on contract.
• Plans special events and holiday promotions involving sales management team.
• Coordinates local marketing efforts with other locations and local reservations centers.
• Assists other Sales Associates and Sales Management with marketing efforts by offering sales presentation training, organizing of route schedules and motivating team members.
• Develops rapport with key accounts by bringing making sales calls on new accounts, existing accounts and high level accounts through meetings, emails, phone calls, lunches and special events.
• Promote and actively participate in the Incremental Service and Sales process with customers in an effort to maximize sales opportunities and meet sales goals set by management. Will maximize upgrades and walk-ups utilizing established Service and Sales techniques and dialogues.
• Records, documents, and administers all rental transactions including proper payment accurately and according to company policy.
• Reviews the terms and conditions of the rental contract with the customer, providing clarification or further explanation as requested.
• Be instrumental in sales and service training.
• Insures full implementation of all Incremental Service and Sales processes.
• Plan and participate in staff meetings to communicate and discuss concern areas, employee concerns, plans and upcoming goals. Notify upper management of any problem areas or trends that should be addressed.
• Complete and submit all reports and assignments as required so management is advised of special issues, problem areas and resolutions.

Location Operations Sales Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Location Sales Manager, the Location Operations Sales Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the rental location to insure high productivity, superior customer service and profitability of the location.

WORKERS SUPERVISED: Sales Associates and Service Agents
CLASSIFICATION: Salaried

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the rental location.
• Insures there is adequate staffing and vehicles to handle the volume of customers expected.
• Assigns duties for customer handling, pick-up and drop-off and vehicle preparation.
• Responsible for completing all daily paperwork, fuel audits, vehicle inventories, bank deposits, collection efforts, callbacks, and reporting required from the location.
• Provides professional customer service and assists in resolving customer service issues as they arise.
• Assists in identifying and reporting potential new sources of referral business within the existing customer base.
• With the input of the location’s Sales Associates, sets monthly incremental sales goals for each employee by the 25th of the prior month with follow up throughout the month.
• Fills out, communicates and posts the Daily Game Plan for each business day.
• Completes Coaching and Feedback forms on every employee at least once per week.
• Promotes and utilizes the approved Incremental Sales and Service programs and services with customers in an effort to maximize sales opportunities and meet sales goals set by management.
• Insures full implementation of all Incremental Sales and Service processes.
• Responsible for training and developing the Sales Associates and Service Agents in all aspects of the operations and monitors their training progress to assure timely completion of training assignments.
• Utilizes, trains and promotes effective telephone handling to capture every possible reservation.
• Insures that all vehicles are maintained within the set vehicle program requirements. Makes sure all vehicles have oil changes within the manufacturers guidelines, that vehicles do not exceed the acceptable mileage limits, and that vehicles are returned to the manufacturer or fleet manager on a timely basis.
• Completes and submits all risk reports for the location’s fleet.
• Responsible for overseeing the repairs of out-of-service vehicles in the location’s fleet. Insures that repairs are done in a timely basis, thereby keeping the out-of-service under 3%.
• Regularly directs the work of two or more employees and has the authority to hire or fire or can effectively recommend such action.

OTHER DUTIES:

• Abides by and enforces, as directed, company policies and procedures.
• Assists customers at the rental counter as needed.
• Cleans and fuels rental vehicles as needed.
• Picks-up and drops-off customers as needed.
• Insures the cleanliness of the location office and parking lot.

• Insuring that each and every returning customer is greeted in a friendly welcoming manner and directed where to park the car upon return.
• Completing the return process through the use of our handheld terminals.
• Insuring accuracy of rental agreement information upon termination of the rental transaction. Mileage, Fuel level etc.
• Inspect each vehicle for damage upon return
• Assist customers with any needs that they may have.
• Providing full and accurate information regarding any questions that the customer may have i.e., taxes, fuel charges, etc.
• Insure that all equipment is stored, charged, and in good working order at all times.
• Safeguarding all company property at all times.
• Adhere to company uniform policies at all times
• Insure that every car that is returned is searched for left items and that items are returned to customer prior to their departure.
• Other duties that may be required at the discretion of the management.

This position requires bending, stretching and some lifting. Must have clean driving record and current drivers license. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
