FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. Which browsers are supported on the new reservation system?

    The site is optimized for Internet Explorer 6, but will work with other browsers such as AOL, Mozilla and Netscape.

  2. Do I need to "sign up" to make a reservation?

    No, there is no username or password needed to place a reservation.

  3. I still have my username and password from your old system. Do I still need them?

    No, you no longer need a username and password for the new system.

  4. I have forgotten my Easy ID number. How do I look it up?

    Send an Email to reservations@arac.com with your full name, date of birth and driver's license number and they will look it up for you.

  5. What is an Easy ID number and do I need one?

    The Easy ID tracks your points in our Frequent Rental Club. Your Easy ID number will also auto-fill many fields in the reservation process saving time, as it will remember your preferences. An Easy ID number is not required to make a reservation.

  6. How do I apply for an Easy ID number?

    Your Easy ID number is issued automatically on your first rental. If you have rented from us before you will have a number. Ask our rental or reservation staff to look it up for you.

  7. I saw a special offer on your specials page. How do I book this rate?

    Next to the special offer you will see a rate code. Enter this rate code in the Advertised Rate code field remembering to switch the button to Advertised rate code. If you click the link at the specials page, these steps will be completed automatically for you.

  8. I have a negotiated rate programmed against my Easy ID number, do I have to use this rate or can I compare it to other available rates?

    You may book at any other rate available. Change the button to either Internet rate or Advertised rate code. This will override your negotiated rate.

  9. When I click on certain buttons such as the calendar, the Branch Locator or the "Show me rates and Cars" button, nothing happens?

    These buttons result in popup windows. You may have anti-pop up software enabled.

  10. Why does the system tell me I have to complete all required fields when I have already done so?

    This is a temporary bug that occasionally appears. Enter a character  in all the other fields as a work around. We hope to get this issue resolved soon.

     

     

  11. Why does the drop off date jump 5 days ahead of my pickup date. I only want to rent for 1 day.

    The drop off date has been set to 5 days, because that is the average length of time most Advantage customers rent a car.

  12. Is there a quick way to enter a non-airport branch without having to go through the branch locator?

    Yes. The branch locator lists an Advantage location number. In future, this number can be entered directly into the airport code field and the location will be auto-filled.

  13. I chose the wrong Advantage location by mistake and want to change it. How do I do this?

    You can over type the location code with a new code. As soon as you tab or click out of the field, the location will be updated. You can also go back to the Branch Locator, a new selection will over write the old.

  14. How do I know what hours the Advantage location operates?

    Scroll down in the Address box, the business hours will be displayed.

  15. How do I get a map of a particular Advantage location?

    Click the "map it" link below the Address. A MapQuest map will be opened.

  16. Why doesn’t the system show particular vehicles I know Advantage rents?

    a) The vehicle may not be available at that location
    b) The vehicle has been sold out

  17. Once I selected my chosen car from the window, where does it show what car I selected on the main screen? All I see is the rate in the box.

    The type of car you selected is listed in the grey area under the sub-heading: "You Selected" located ABOVE the rate box. The selected car appears in red letters.

  18. I would like to add insurance and other options to my reservation. How do I do this?

    At this stage you cannot add options to your reservation. You can view available options by clicking on the "View Options" link and then request an option in the comments box. Your comments will be forwarded to the location, but they will not be confirmed.

  19. I don't reside in the United States, what extra requirements do you have?

    You must provide us with your airline and flight number.

  20. I have submitted my reservation. I saw a window pop up but it went away again and now the screen has returned. How do I know my reservation was sent through?

    When the page reloads, the screen looks the same but you will notice that a confirmation number has appeared in the top right corner of the screen. This means that your reservation was submitted successfully.

  21. What does the "refresh reservation" button do?

    If you have made some changes to the reservation, but have not submitted them yet, the "Refresh reservation" button will reload your reservation exactly as it was before you made the changes. However, if you have submitted those changes, the "refresh reservation" button will display the reservation including the changes you have made.

  22. When I try to print the confirmation screen, it runs off the page because the margins are too wide.

    Instead of trying to print the confirmation screen rather use the Print Reservation button; this will open your confirmation in a printer friendly window.

  23. How do I return to Advantage's home page once I am done?

    As the reservation screen opened up in a new browser window all you need do is close the reservation window and you will return to our home page.

  24. How do I modify a reservation?

    Once you have made a reservations, the system will allow you to modify it by making your changes and clicking the "Submit changes" button. If you no longer have the reservations in front of you, you can look it up by entering your Last Name and Confirmation number on our main page at www.advantagerentacar.com . You can change the pickup and drop dates and times, the drop off location, the car class, the rate chosen, but you cannot change the pickup location.

  25. I want to change my pickup location for a reservation I made. Why is this area grayed out?

    Our reservations system is keyed off the pickup location, being the main item that determines the Reservation Confirmation number. In order to change the pickup location you will need to cancel the old reservation and make a new one.
