ADVANTAGE RENT-A-CAR PARTNERS WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO OFFER DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS SCHOLARSHIP.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (January 2005). Advantage Rent A Car is pleased to announce its’ partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation in the 2004-2005 Don’t Mess with Texas (DMWT) scholarship. This $5,000 scholarship program will award high school students for their efforts to reduce litter in their communities. The scholarship is open to all public and private high school seniors in Texas. Students are invited to visit the web site at www.dontmesswithtexas.org for an application and guidelines about eligibility.

“With our home operation in Texas, we take very seriously the commitment to proactively protect the environment of this state,” said Mark E. Walker, vice president of marketing and technology. “This scholarship is not only intended to acknowledge the efforts of the young citizens of Texas, but to promote a public awareness throughout every community in Texas.”

Advantage has a long history of partnering with the state of Texas, entering their 14th consecutive year as one of the contract car rental providers to the Travel Management program for state of Texas employees.
